The Evil Within 2 – Preview

The Evil Within was an overlooked survival horror gem. It may have been rough around the edges with some performance and gameplay issues, but it was a much-appreciated return to old survival-horror design philosophies. Scarce ammo, unforgiving difficulty, intentionally limiting controls – elements like these filled the void that Resident Evil had failed to capture until earlier this year with Resident Evil 7. Now, The Evil Within 2 challenges Capcom’s spot for best survival-horror game of 2017. It’s nearly identical to its predecessor with mechanics and…

Call of Duty WWII – Preview

Interestingly enough, we had a lot of positive things to say about Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s multiplayer when it was going through its beta. We liked how it was a middle ground between the so-called “boots on the ground” playstyle and Advanced Warfare’s twitchy, movement-based skill. These are usually called remakes because most or all of the original games’ assets have been remade,…

First Impressions: Call of Duty: Black Ops III Embraces the Past As It Focuses on the Future With Call of Duty being the most successful multiplayer shooter franchise in video game history, you would think that betas would’ve been the norm by now. Instead, each instalment has had infamous issues. Annoying perks such as Juggernaut in Modern Warfare, overpowered weapons like the FAMAS and AK74u in Black Ops, and, er, a host of problems that plagued the fun yet flawed…

Entering Resident Evil: Parts 4 & 5 + Thoughts On RE6

I’ve finally done it. Today, I completed my long running blog series “Entering Resident Evil” and would like to thank anyone that has seen it. It’s been a ride, and I hope it will prompt you to play some RE games before RE6 launches. Instead of posting Parts 4 and 5 here, I decided to post them in the review section (since that’s what they are in essence). The links are below… Entering Resident Evil: Part 4 Entering Resident Evil:…
